Cllr Kevin Campbell Mayor of Derry

Councillor Kevin Campbell was elected to Derry City Council following the Local Government Elections in 2005 representing the Cityside Ward as a Sinn Féin Councillor. He was elected to the position of Mayor at the Council’s Annual Meeting on 11th June, 2012 for a one year term.

As Mayor, Kevin is an ex-officio member of the Council’s Standing Committees and is Joint Chair of the Regeneration Strategy Board and is Chairman of Derry Visitor and Convention Bureau. The Mayor is also a member of the Honourable The Irish Society Advisory Committee and serves on the Board of the Walled City Partnership. He also represents Council on the National Association of Councillors (NI Region).

Kevin is a keen Irish Language activist and holds a degree in the Irish Language and literature and is a member of the Board of Governors for Gaelscoil Éadain Mhóir. He also works for the people of the Creggan area as a member of the Triax Neighbourhood Management Team who have been involved in the regeneration of the area including the new District Play Park.
