Eddie Friel, Head of Business Liaison and Academic Enterprise, UU Magee

Eddie Friel holds a BA (Hons) Business Studies degree and MBA from the University of Ulster, and Postgraduate Diploma in Computer Science and Applications from Queen’s University, Belfast.

He is Head of Business Liaison and Academic Enterprise at the University of Ulster.  He has previously worked for a small IT Company, Queen’s University, Belfast, and Invest Northern Ireland.

He has served as a Non-Executive Director on the Board of the Foyle Heath and Social Services Trust, and was a member of the Western Health and Social Services Council.  Mr Friel has also served as a Governor of the Omagh College of Further Education, and as a Non-Executive Director of Greenshoots Newry Ltd., which was the first Business Incubation Centre in the Further Education sector in Northern Ireland.

He is currently a Non-Executive Director of the Clinical Translational Research and Innovation Centre (C-TRIC), based at Altnagelvin Hospital, Derry.
