Tom Hall, VP Allstate

Tom Hall is vice president of Allstate’s International Technology and Operations organization.  Tom is located at the company’s home office in Northbrook, Illinois.  His team is responsible for developing and driving Allstate’s global sourcing strategy, which looks to control operating expenses, improve speed-to-market and, when appropriate, leverage outside expertise.  There are over six thousand people on the ATO International team.  Two thousand are employees in Northern Ireland (Belfast, Derry and Strabane) and another four thousand are located in India and the Philippines  In his post since June, Tom has a long history of leading change on a global scale.

Tom joined Allstate in 2009 as Vice President of Human Resources – Talent Acquisition.  His team was responsible for identifying and implementing innovative recruiting strategies that ensure world class talent is sourced and selected for company-wide employee, executive and agent opportunities.

Prior to joining Allstate, Tom was a Vice President of Human Resources at Seagate Technology.  Most recently, he served as leader of the Global Staffing & Onboarding function that filled over 25,000 positions worldwide each year.  Prior to that, Tom led HR for the Americas and Europe, leading the transformation of the company’s HR practices.  This included establishing strategic HR business partnerships with key executives, introducing Six Sigma principles and tools, founding Seagate’s cultural diversity initiative, and building a state of the art HR service center and related applications.

Before Seagate, Tom was an HR leader at HR savvy corporations such as Baxter Healthcare Corporation, PepsiCo, American Hospital Supply Corporation and Amoco.  He currently serves on the Carlson Graduate School of Management – Industrial Relations Center advisory council, the Corporate Leadership Council’s Staffing Senior Advisor’s Forum, and the Taleo Customer Executive Council.

Tom earned an MBA from the University of Chicago and a BA from the University of Colorado at Boulder.  Tom lives in Glenview, Illinois with his wife Marcia.  Their sons, Spencer and Trevor, are in college at California (Berkeley) and Miami (Ohio).
