The final week. This is the lead in to the Craic 10K on Friday. There is still time to enter. All you have to do is get along to the following places. The Andersonstown News Kiosk in the Kennedy Centre, the North Belfast News (Cityside) or at Mary Peters Track. If you cannot make it to any of these outlets call 02890 611916 and they will delighted to help you get signed up.

Training is almost complete. Do nothing the day before. A rest will prepare you for the run on St Patrick’s Day. You will feel refreshed and ready to go out and have a brilliant time running the streets of Belfast.

Numbers are still coming in and as of Monday this week there was 1350 entrants for the run. Brilliant numbers for only the third year that it has being happening. I’m sure by time the race starts it will have hit the 1500 mark.
As this will be my last blog, and yes I can hear all my running buddies breathing a sigh of relief, I will sign off with a Happy St Patrick’s Day to everyone taking part in the Craic 10K. To all the volunteers who will make it possible on the day a massive thank you. No run can happen without people giving up their spare time to help marshal and keep the runners safe on the day.

May this lead to bigger things for some of you. Maybe I Will see you at the Belfast half marathon or God forbid you might even make it to Dunlin in October for the full marathon. Don’t stop. You have come this far in your running career to let it slip away.

Remember the pacers will be wearing RED t-shirts on the day. 40, 45, 50, 55 and 60 minutes clearly mark on the back of their t-shirts. Pick the appropriate time. Be realistic and don’t go off fast and ending up having to walk. Pace yourself.
