Aisling Events Co-Founder

Máirtín Ó Muilleoir is publisher at the Belfast Media Group and at the Irish Echo in the US. The Irish Echo, established 1928, is the oldest and biggest newspaper serving Irish Americans across 50 States.

A former Finance Minister in the Executive and a former Lord Mayor of Belfast, Máirtín has been involved in community-building for four decades.

He is a founding partner of the North Ireland Growth Fund which is aiming to raise $100m to invest in early-stage companies seizing economic opportunities in Ireland’s 12 northern counties.

He has authored several books in Irish and English, is a graduate of Queen’s University Belfast and has received several awards for his community commitment, most notably an honorary doctorate from Quinnipiac University in Connecticut, USA and the Tolerntia Laureate Award for support of the LGBTQ+ community. In 2023, he served as Honorary Grand Marshall of the St Patrick’s Day Parade in Huntsville, Alabama.

He is a keen runner and is married to Helen O’Hare. The couple have four grown-up children.

Aisling Events Director

Connla McCann is a fluent Irish speaker with an MSc in Business and IT from Dublin City University and a BA Hons in Celtic Studies, from Ulster University. She began her in career in event management in 2005 and specializes in awards ceremonies, sports events and conferences in Ireland and the United Sates. She is the current CEO of Irish Echo in New York as well as an active member of the Irish language, education and cultural spheres in the north of Ireland. She is a governor of the board of the Irish language primary school, Bunscoil Phobal Feirste and secretary for the board of Brassneck Theatre Company.

Events Coordinator

Amy Dickinson is Events Coordinator with Aisling Events, a position she took up in 2018. She holds a BA Hons degree in Liberal Arts with Business Studies, gained at St Mary’s University, Belfast. She is a specialist in digital communications and events management including technology and business conferences, sporting events and awards ceremonies, which she has managed for corporations and communities on both sides of the Atlantic.

SPAR Craic 10k

St Patricks Day race that attracts over 2000 runners and is the biggest stand-alone 10k in the north of Ireland.

Golden Bridges Conference Awards

Takes place in Boston every November and promotes partnerships and connections between Northwest Ireland and Massachusetts. A delegation of business and political leaders from Donegal and Derry join us in Boston along with Boston business, community and politically leaders.

AI CON

Artificial Intelligence conference aimed at businesses, technology professionals and business leaders from across NI.

Belfast International Homecoming

A showcase of the best of Belfast which welcomes back the Diaspora to Belfast.

BelTech

Two-day technology conference for technology practitioners and post-primary school students from across and NI. It attracts between 400-500 technologists and around 500 post-primary students every year.

New York New Belfast

Takes place in New York every June and promotes partnerships and connections between New York and Belfast.
